Pakistan is a heavily populated country (176,745,364 (2011) World Bank). It is the second largest Islamic country in the world. 95% of Pakistan’s population is Islamic (Muslim).
The average length of school attendance in Pakistan is 8 years for males and only 6 years for females. Literacy is at only 68.6% for males and a heartbreaking 40.3% for females. More than 60% of the population is illiterate. 65% of the population is extremely poor.

Pakistan is situated between latitude 24 and 37 degrees north and longitude 62 and 75 degrees east. The country borders Iran on the west, India in the east, Afghanistan in the north-west, China in the north and Arabian sea on the south.
